Our inspiration / Our story
My name is Samira Kordestani and I was inspired to develop this unique décor company
shortly after my daughter, Ayla, was born unexpectedly two months early.
Ayla was placed in an incubator at Cedars Neonatal ICU, where she remained for two months.
During that time, which was a life changing experience for me as a first time mother,
I began to think about how I wanted to decorate her room. I wanted to cover the walls
with something that would excite her imagination – a magical and visually stimulating
room for Ayla when she came home. Having trained and worked for many years as a graphic
designer, I had a distinct vision of what was needed for the walls of her room. They
would be:
Modern and Colorful •
Unique and Stimulating •
Safe and Fun
Lovingly named after our nickname for Ayla (joo joo means baby bird), Joo Joo panels
resemble nothing else on the market. We make them with non-toxic foam: they’re safe,
lightweight, incredibly colorful and easy to install . . . a big plus for busy parents
like me.
